Camacho Coyolar Review @ CigarJack.net

 |
Originally released in 2005 under the name “Say Uncle” the Camacho Coyolar Puro is the Eiora’s family first venture in using tobacco not from their farm. This cigar is full bodied and deserves your respect, after my first experience with this cigar I found out why.
Construction: I recall these looking a slightly bit rougher but the two I smoked recently had nice looking wrappers. It has a consistent firmness to it, with just a slight bit of give. The draw is a bit on the easy side, if I could find my punch cutter I’d prefer to use it on these cigars.
Burn: The Camacho Coyolar has a gray ash the held on fairly well. It tapped off fairly easy but wasn’t flaky. I’ve read some complaints about the burn issues on these, but the two I had burned fairly even. These cigars were stored for a month at 65% humidity. I did have to relight a couple of times, but that could be from neglect on my part.
Flavor: Right from the start this cigar is like chewing on black peppercorns, but still had a smooth quality. Near the midway point I started to pick up some sweeter notes and some cedar, but still the pepper is predominate. I didn’t pick up any real changes throughout the rest of the cigar.
Verdict: While this cigar is definitely full flavor and strength, it didn’t knock me on my butt. The flavor is predominately black pepper and that just isn’t something that really appeals to me. I’d rather have the Camacho Corojo or Camacho Havana. If you like those flavors it is definitely worth trying.
