Camacho Select Robusto Cigar Review

When the prize for the last contest was sent to me a few extras were in the box. One of those extras was a box of the new blend of the Camacho Select. While the old Select was a good smoke, it wasn’t one of my go to cigars. Released with a new band and tweaked blend I was looking forward to giving it another try.

No complaints on construction. Occasionally one might have a small tear in the wrapper at the foot. The Camacho Select has just a slight give to it and an easy draw. Thinking back on the box I just smoked through, they are burned very well. The only times I had an issue with the burn I was sitting outside and it was a bit windy.

Flavor: Definitely the most intense Cameroon I’ve ever smoked. While they don’t say if there is any Corojo in the blend I was definitely picking out some of the flavors and this is Camacho after all. The spicy and sweetness of the Cameroon wrapper is definitely there and I also picked up some definite Corojo like flavors. They were very well balanced and complimented each other nicely.

Verdict: The La Aurora Connoisseur Selection Cameroon is another I know that has that Cameroon/Corojo combo, but the Corojo completely dominates in that cigar. The Camacho Select does a superb job of blending the two flavors. I smoked through a box of these in less than a month. I’ll definitely pick up another.
