International women’s Cigar Society FORMS Nonprofit For the purpose of giving WOMEN A UNIFIED VOICE
(Libertyville, IL) International Women’s Cigar Society (IWCS) was recently formed by a group of women cigar manufacturers and retailers for the purpose of educating, mentoring, networking and providing advocacy for women in the cigar industry.
“This is an amazing opportunity for women in the cigar industry to come together to act as one voice and to effectively make our unique contributions to this industry heard. We are committed to providing an informal, yet professional environment that encourages and rewards women’s insight, teamwork, creativity and enthusiasm,” say Maria Martin, Secretary of IWCS, and National Sales Manager for Camacho Cigars.
The organization’s goals are to serve women in the cigar industry by promoting the women’s perspective as it relates to the growth of the industry and to be a fundraising organization dedicated to raising funds for US military families. “Our efforts will directly and positively impact US military families and will give IWCS members a common fundraising focus,” says Patti Smith, President of IWCS and co-owner of Edwards Pipe & Tobacco in Tampa, Florida. “ We are excited to work together to achieve these goals.”
According to IWCS Vice President Diana Silvius, “This organization is a long time coming. Women are here to stay in this industry and will continue to be a strong force in its growth. “
