Camacho 2009 Liberty Review at My Cigar Ashes

Via: MyCigarAshes
A little history….
This cigar is said to be one of the best Honduran cigars made. Only 40,000 cigars were produced, total, packed in just 2,000 chests. Each cigar comes wrapped in tissue paper, then enclosed inside individual (Numbered) Spanish cedar coffins. 20 coffins are then set inside a large, humidor-quality Spanish cedar chest that has been individually numbered.
The Liberty 2009 is crafted into a gorgeous 11/18 size, a 6″ x 56 figurado. This year’s blend is a truly special addition to the Liberty series. The 2009 was blended personally by Christian Eiroa in an attempt to out do the 2005 Liberty. Utilizing Camacho’s only ever Habano crop of tobacco. These have been aging since 2007.
Wrapper: Honduran Habano
Binder: Honduran
Filler: Honduran
Shape: Figurado (11/18)
Size: 6 X 56
Draw: Effortless
Burn: Superb (Solid with very little flaking)
Construction: Excellent
The first 1/3 had a lot of cedar flavor with some spice; medium-bodied.
The 2nd 1/3 the cedar and spice lingered with an added hint of nuts; walnuts to be specific.
The last 1/3 was full-bodied with a strong flavor of charred wood and spice.
Overall, this is an excellent cigar. My favorite Liberty to date? No. The 2003 is my favorite so far.
