Grand Opening of the first Camacho Cigar Lounge in Zumikon, Switzerland.

On the 28th of January the first Camacho Cigar Lounge in Switzerland will open its doors. To celebrate this unique event, a spanish music band, delicious tapas, fine white wine and of course tasteful Camacho cigars will be waiting for you to enjoy. The party starts at 19:00 o’clock and ends at 1:00 o’clock. The location is: Zumi’s Bistro, Dorfplatz 12, 8126 Zumikon.

Every summer since 2002, Christian Eiroa releases a special summer cigar in the Liberty brand. The Camacho Liberty 2009 was released in July of 2009, and only 40,000 of these were made. The filler and binder are grown in the Eiroa’s farm in Jamastran, Honduras. For those lucky enough to have a cigar from each release, this would be an interesting comparison among all of them. #9 Camacho Diploma:

The Camacho Diploma is a cigar that makes it on my list despite its rather needy nature. Each and every one I smoke requires some work to keep the stick burning properly. Despite the extra effort required, the flavors make up for the hassle. The Camacho Diploma is a product of Christian Eiroa and utilizes what is called an Authentic Corojo leaf. Like most Camacho Product, these cigars could be described as a complete Puro, in the sense that all of the tobacco used is not only grown in Honduras, but grown on the Camacho Fields. (more…)

A little history….

This cigar is said to be one of the best Honduran cigars made.  Only 40,000 cigars were produced, total, packed in just 2,000 chests. Each cigar comes wrapped in tissue paper, then enclosed inside individual (Numbered) Spanish cedar coffins. 20 coffins are then set inside a large, humidor-quality Spanish cedar chest that has been individually numbered. I received five of these beauties in the mail from Camacho as a prize for a contest on twitter and I couldn’t wait to smoke one as its the perfect size for an after lunch smoke (I can finish it in the amount of time it takes me to drive back to work from lunch).
