I received five of these beauties in the mail from Camacho as a prize for a contest on twitter and I couldn’t wait to smoke one as its the perfect size for an after lunch smoke (I can finish it in the amount of time it takes me to drive back to work from lunch). From the moment I first fired it up, I knew this was going to be a bit different then anything I had tried before. (more…)

I do not usually make a big deal about the band on the cigar (in this case the over-sized normal band and the one on the foot) but I think that the band perfectly encapsulates what this cigar is all about. The bands are sleek, stark and over-the-top. Mostly silver and black, with a thin line of red and some other colors, the bands give you the sense that this stubby cigar means business. Having smoked some before, I know that it means serious business. (more…)

Camacho Triple Maduro 11/18 Review
March 3, 2009
These cigars have been stored in their original box in my converted wine cooler. The wine cabinet environment is set at 69%RH and has a temperature of between 68-74 degrees F. These stogies now have a total of 1 yr 8.7 months of age. This is the fourth and final review in a series of reviews on this cigar.

The Camacho Triple Maduro is the first cigar in history to utilize 100% maduro tobaccos in its blend.
The Camacho Triple Maduro is a prime example of the perfection of this art. The cigar itself is an exceptionally full flavored smoke that is both strong and complex. The core flavor on the palate (more…)

I first reviewed the Camacho Triple Maduro back in May 2007. That review was based on a cello wrapped unbanded Rothschild that was provided to me by Camacho before the official release of this much heralded cigar. I found the cigar to be a pretty decent smoke, but I was not wowed by it. Subsequently, I have been informed by others who also tried one of these unbanded “pre-releasedâ€? versions of the Triple Maduro, that the Triple Maduro which ultimately hit the shelves is much better. I don’t claim to know if there is really any difference between what is on the shelves now versus what I smoked then, but I figured I would put it to the test. It just so happens that I still possess one of the sample smokes I got way back in May. (more…)

Origin: Honduras
Wrapper: Honduras (Maduro)
Binder: Honduras (Maduro)
Filler: Honduras (Maduro)
Body: Full
Strength: Full
Box Price: $198 (Box of 21)
Description: I’ve had this cigar sitting in my humidor for a month or two, a gift from Doc Stogiefresh. The cigar is beautiful, and a fantastic work of art. I love the dark maduro contrasting the silver bands. The wrapper is a bit rough looking, but has some crystals on the wrapper. This is one of those cigars that I sat inspecting for a few minutes before lighting it.
The Triple Maduro doesn’t pull any punches, starting off with some woody and espresso flavors. It gives off a ton of white smoke while your puffing on it, but not much sitting in the ashtray. I did have some burn issues that required some touch up, but it evened up after awhile. (more…)

I got a fiver of these smokes from cbid and am really enjoying them. This cigar is a very unique cigar in that it is currently the only triple maduro cigar on the market. This really is a powerhouse cigar, not for the weak or faint of heart. It packs a huge punch and if you are not careful it could knock you into a tailspin.
